Mercedes 'experience' opens at Brooklands

Part showroom, part car museum, part science class, part test track, Mercedes-Benz World has just opened at Brooklands, on the southern edge of Greater London.

The 155-acre facility includes sections of the famous Brooklands banked track, and while you won’t be able to blast around this certified ‘Ancient Monument’, Mercedes has laid down a 1.5-mile handling track, a wet skid circle and a ten-acre off-road course.

Of particular interest will be some of the exhibits in the museum, including a 300 SL Gullwing and an SLR McLaren.

There's also a kids’ play area, restaurant, cafĂ©, ‘boutiques’ and interactive activities. There is a charge for the driving experiences, but general admission is free.
